Notes
1.   To speed things up play in BRIEF or SHORT mode. Note there is
  no save game option.
2.   At some point in the game a dwarf will throw an axe at you.
  When he does get the axe and then whenever a menacing dwarf
  appears THROW AXE then GET AXE. Most times this will kill the
  dwarf but if not just try again.
3.   During the game a pirate will steal any treasure you are
  carrying but don\'t worry as this will be retrieved later in the
  game. Note a treasure must have been stolen before you enter the
  pirate\'s maze, otherwise the pirate\'s treasure chest won\'t be
  there.
4.   If you are reincarnated you will find yourself in the well
  house, so go west and get the lamp then east back to well house,
  LIGHT LAMP, PLUGH to \'Y2\'. Note any objects you were carrying when
  you were killed will be in the location where you were killed.

Walk Through
(Start at the end of the road), E (well house), GET LAMP, GET
KEYS, W, S, S, S (depression), UNLOCK GRATE, D (small chamber),
LIGHT LAMP, W (cobble crawl), GET CAGE (wicker), W (debris room -
note the magic word \'XYZZY\' written on the wall and leave the rod
for now as it frightens the bird), W, W, GET BIRD (in the cage),
W, D, D (hall of the mountain king - a fierce snake is here),
RELEASE BIRD (it attacks the snake and drives it away), DROP CAGE,
S, GET JEWELLERY, N, U, S (nugget room), GET NUGGET, N, D, N, GET
BARS (of silver), N (\'Y2\'  where randomly a hollow voice says
\'PLUGH\'), OFF LAMP, PLUGH (you are magically transported to the
well house), DROP NUGGET, DROP JEWELLERY, DROP BARS, GET FOOD, GET
BOTTLE (of water), LIGHT LAMP, PLUGH (back to \'Y2).

S, S, SW (secret east/west canyon), W (a dragon is here), KILL
DRAGON (With what? Your bare hands?), YES, GET RUG (Persian), N, D
(slab room), S, D (foot of western pit where you see a tiny plant
asking for water), WATER PLANT (it spurts into growth), U, W, U,
N, N (reservoir), GET WATER, S (a dwarf throws an axe at you
within the next few locations also about now you should hear
rustling which is the pirate behind you), S, D, S, D, WATER PLANT
(it grows explosively), U, E, D (bottom of eastern pit), GET OIL
(in the bottle), U, W, D, CLIMB BEANSTALK (a narrow corridor), W
(giant room), N (a rusty door is here), OIL DOOR (it frees the
hinges), DROP BOTTLE, S, GET EGGS, N (the pirate often steals your
treasurers at this point), N (come back for the trident later), W,
D (low room), DROP FOOD, DROP KEYS, DROP EGGS (if the pirate
hasn\'t stolen them), SE, GET VASE (Ming), SE (Swiss cheese room),

DROP VASE (Ming - make sure you drop the pillow before the Ming

S, S, U, W (east bank of fissure), WAVE ROD (a crystal bridge now
spans the fissure), DROP ROD, W, W (west end of hall of mists), W,
W (west end of hall - note don\'t bother entering the maze unless
the pirate has stolen some treasure), S (into maze of twisty
passages all different - this is the pirate\'s maze where the chest
and stolen treasures are randomly placed and different for each
game, so we will visit every location and when you find the chest
GET CHEST, GET... whatever treasures have been stolen and continue
from there), E, E, W, S, NW, E, NE, E, SE, SW, E, D (back to west
end of hall), E, N, E, GET COINS, E, N, N (\'Y2\'), OFF LAMP, PLUGH
(to well house), DROP CHEST, DROP....... (any items retrieved from
the pirate\'s maze, but not the eggs or coins), LIGHT LAMP, PLUGH
(back to \'Y2\').

(By now you should have received a message saying your batteries
are low), S, S, U, W, W, W (west end of hall of mists), GET
DIAMONDS, S (into a maze of twisty tunnels all alike), SE, N, S
(dead end where you see a vending machine), DROP COINS (see some
fresh batteries), GET BATTERIES, N (you get a message that your
batteries are being replaced), N, N (to where the large pit is), D
(bird chamber), E, E (debris room), OFF LAMP, XYZZY (to well
house), DROP DIAMONDS, LIGHT LAMP, PLUGH (to \'Y2\'), DROP BATTERIES
(dead).

S, S, SW, W, N, D, S, D, CLIMB BEANSTALK, W, N, N, GET TRIDENT, W,
D (low room), GET EGGS (if you haven\'t already got them), GET
KEYS, GET FOOD, SW, U (a troll is here wanting payment to cross
the bridge), THROW EGGS (as these can be retrieved later - the
troll catches the treasure and runs off), NE, NE, E, NE, N (enjoy
the view!), S, E, GET SPICES (rare), W, S, SE, S, IN (barren
room), FEED BEAR (he calms down), UNLOCK CHAIN, GET CHAIN
(golden), GET BEAR, OUT (the bear is following you), W, N, W, W,
SW (the troll appears and blocks your way), DROP BEAR (it lumbers
after the troll who scurries off), SW (across the bridge), SW, D,
SE, SE (Swiss cheese room), NE, E (complex junction), N (shell
room), OPEN CLAM (using the trident - a pearl falls out so it must
be an oyster!), D, D (cul-de-sac), GET PEARL, U, U, S (back to
complex junction), U, U, N (\'Y2\'), OFF LAMP, PLUGH (to well
house), DROP SPICES, DROP CHAIN, DROP TRIDENT, DROP PEARL, LIGHT

(Now wander around until you get the message \"Caves are closing\" -
keep wandering around until you get the message \"Caves are now
closed\"... you find yourself at the northeast end of an immense
room), SW, GET ROD, NE, DROP ROD, SW, BLAST (a 20 ft. hole appears
in the far wall burying the dwarves in the rubble… you march
through the hole to the main office where a cheering band of elves
carry the conquering adventurer off into the sunset).
