I am not affiliated with Origin in any way. This document is not
endorsed by them and is not an original work although it seeks to shed
light on Origin's original work. No copyright infringement is intended
but if relevant parties wish me to take it down I will. This document
is another of my projects to look at games I've enjoyed when I Was
younger and to help unlock their secrets for others. Please do not
reproduce for profit without permission. My policy is that I generally
give approval if you ask me by my first name with a specific request.
Thanks.
This should go hand in hand with my Ultima V FAQ. The best way to use
this document is to search for information on a certain subject, i.e.
"compassion" may show you the mantra for compassion or even the word of
power. There are some instances where you can look for the string
"[give" which will tell you where you can get something.
A future revision plans to create a census. Although this script file
is bigger than that of Ultima IV I suspect there are fewer people to
talk to you in Britannia. The ones who do, though, all have relevant
information and not as much philosophy as in Ultima IV.
This document was originally extracted and then considerably edited, so
it's possible I've missed something. However, it seems that everyone is
in the right location, so I feel it's something I can release in the
hopes that anyone who finds me an error can drop me a line.

GENERAL FORMATTING/NOTES WITH EXAMPLE
Character interaction is a bit different in Ultima V than in Ultima IV.
You see a person's name and description. If you've met before, and they
have asked you for your name(this seems to happen randomly,) there may
be a greeting. There is also a standard "bye" quote they give you.
Also, you may be automatically pulled into a certain dialog. Several
different four-letter sequences may also get the same response, which is
a good deal up from the two found in Ultima IV. So an example would be:
[standard heading]
NAME: Andrew
DESCRIPTION: A Purdue Fan
GREETING: Howdy ho!
[known] It's good to see thee, [you]! Verily, Go Boilers!
[above, if your name was asked, it is remembered.]
JOB: I'm in software.
BYE: Hail Purdue!
[questions]
purd:
We're going to the Rose Bowl to play Washington!
[Purdue will elicit the above response.]
rose:
bowl:
wash:
'Twill be a good game, methinks the scoreboard operator will require
overtime pay!
[Either Rose, Bowl, or Washington or even washerwoman--only the first
four letters are important--will elicit the above response.]
indi:
notr:
Speak thou not of the lesser football teams in Indiana!
Dost thou even know which town Purdue is in?
****:
Thou unwashed infidel!
west:
'Tis right.
[Above, responding anything except west will get the first response.]
till:
kead:
What a great coach!
bree:
What a great quarterback!
Dost thou think Drew Brees will win the Heisman?
[the question will be prompted. I haven't formatted the "n:" response
to questions yet.]
Probably, yet he has had a great year nonetheless.
y:
'Twould be nice. Yet Weinke and Heupel impress me overmuch as well.

After a long journey northward, the passage turned west. Here the path

Upon the Isle of the Avatar, there lies a dungeon. At its bottom lies a
small, cavernous room of the Underworld. However, there are many more
such small chambers, near enough to be reached by one with the proper
magic! With many uses of such magic, and a great deal of exploration,
one may find the Shard of Cowardice. It lies at the location which upon
the surface would be recorded as L'A ,L'I .
